We Give Urban Wildlife a Place to Call Home

Habitats designed for enhanced ecosystem function

Large-scale habitat creation initiatives form an important part of many development packages, spurred on by legislation that aims to preserve important green infrastructure elements. Habitat creation offers a number of unique benefits, both to the wildlife of Ontario as well as its human inhabitants. Of course, a habitat creation project requires the expertise of a team who understands the unique constraints of our climate and natural resources.

Quiet Nature has served as a pioneer in habitat creation and naturalization efforts in our province, partnering with clients to develop incredible projects across Ontario. Our team possesses educational credentials in horticulture and ecological restoration, and we strive to bring our passion to clients in every project we undertake. We operate a 10-acre farm as part of Quiet Nature, where we continually experiment with new naturalization techniques and educate our staff. We also have a full plant nursery with native species that we use to contribute to our naturalization projects.

As Ontario continues to experience new growth and population booms, the need for affordable housing and commercial space expands. Many developers must comply with southern Ontario habitat creation, low-impact development, and revegetation requirements to reduce the impact of construction. Our team is well-versed in habitat creation and the many facets of these unique projects, and we can help bring your project to life using the right techniques for our ecoregion.

Urban wildlife needs all the help they can get. Enhancing biodiversity by planting native species provides countless opportunities for birds and small animals to build their nests and dens. Few things are as enjoyable as watching wildlife interact outdoors, and the addition of habitat features can encourage such encounters.

We can help support and attract wildlife to your property with the construction and installation of turtle nesting mounds, snake hibernaculum, barn swallow structures, bird boxes, bat hotels, raptor poles, and bee nests.

These habitat features are often part of larger restoration projects, but there continues to be a great need for safe habitat for our local critters.
